AFS-OC Networking Event

The AFS-Ontario Chapter would like to invite Chapter Members and Friends to a training opportunity and networking event. Bring your waders, dress warm and come learn about salmonid spawning surveys with Chapter Members. There will be a river walk and talk about assessing and documenting spawning habitat. Following the spawning surveys we will meet up to continue discussions and networking. Date: Wednesday, November 30, 2016 (Rain or Shine) Time: 3:00 pm Location: Credit River @ Charleston Sideroad near Caledon Village. Indoor networking event to follow. Location TBD. Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) research grants

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) research grant application process is underway for 2017.  Students wishing to apply for an OFAH research grant this year will be able to submit electronically.  The OFAH and partners are offering four different grants worth $4,000 each to university students researching fish and wildlife topics that are helping to improve resource management.  The OFAH uses a science-based approach to our advocacy in fish and wildlife management. Peter A. Larkin Award for Excellence in Fisheries at a Canadian Institution – 2016 Results

This year, a total of 5 MSc. candidates and 5 PhD. candidates applied for the Peter A.
