Summary of CSEE Meeting in Saskatoon

By Sofia Jain, Carleton University The Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution Annual Meeting brings together ecologists and evolutionary biologists from across Canada and parts of the United States. The conference feature a broad scope of research and study organisms, with studies on anything from plant genomics to avian behaviour. This year’s meeting (May 22-24, 2015) was held at the beautiful University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon, and had the general theme of Ecology and Evolution of Managed Landscapes. CARS Celebrates Dr. Harold Harvey

The Canadian Aquatic Resources Section took the opportunity at a Celebration of Dr. Harold Harvey’s influential career as one of Canada’s pre-eminent Fisheries Scientists to present him with a certificate of his inauguration into the CARS, Legends in Fisheries Science Award. The event was held at the University of Toronto Faculty Club and hosted by Don Jackson and Andrew Drake. CARS President-elect Mark Poesch, CARS VP Nick Mandrak, and ex-Past President John Casselman were all in attendance. See our facebook post for photos of the event:
