CARS is seeking nominations (including self-nominations) for various positions within the Executive Committee. The open positions are Vice-President, Student Representative, and Communications Officer. Details on the duties of each position are as follows:
The bylaws stated that the Vice-President shall:
· Perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President;
· Assume the office of the President in the event that the office is vacated;
· Accede to the Presidency upon completion of the term of the Vice-President; and,
· Perform other duties as may be required by the Executive Committee
· Officially starts Jan. 2024, but are invited to the fall meetings of the Executive Committee.
The Student Representative shall:
· Keep the President and the Executive Committee informed of students’ needs, interests, and activities; and,
· Perform other duties as may be required by the Executive Committee (this year, this has included chairing a CARS student committee).
· Note, there are obsolete duties listed in the bylaws that have been omitted for brevity
· Officially starts Jan. 2024, but are invited to the fall meetings of the Executive Committee.
All executives are expected to sit in on monthly CARS conference calls.
We will accept nominations until June 15, 2021, and an electronic vote will occur in the summer. Please send your nominations to Past President Caleb Hasler: c.hasler@uwinnipeg.ca (cc: cars.afs@gmail.com), with a short description of the nominee including why they (or you) are suited to the role.
